Cabeça dos Tarafes is the smallest of the three located in the northeast of the island, the so-called “north” zone, in June the festivities of São Joãozinho are celebrated.
The village, of small dimension, has a bar, among its houses. In June, the village celebrates the festivities of São João, promoting various activities such as a mass at the local school, a popular lunch and a coladeira dance. These celebrations follow those of São João Batista in the neighboring villages of João Galego and Fundo das Figueiras. To enrich the popular lunch, there is also the so-called matança do capode, also known as guinea fowl, on June 25th the festivities end.
