Praia D’Cruz festival 2018 was a success

Also this year the Praia D’Cruz festival of Boavista, now in its 29th edition, ended a two days of music and entertainment on the beautiful Cruz beach in Sal-Rei, Cape Verde. Although the festival has always been free for many years, this year it was decided to charge the entrance, to be compared to the festivals of other islands, with tickets valid for both days at a cost of € 4.60, for a single day € 2.70. This choice was rewarded by the large number of people who came from all over the archipelago to take part in the most popular summer festival of Boa Vista.

The entry, according to the words of the councilor Djamilton Lima, has contributed to the minimization of costs, because the Municipality already has many expenses for several projects but has always maintained a very high expectation for the success of this event, which it involves the population and also many tourists.

The first day the local DJs started the festival, followed by local artists and by other islands, like Fidjus di Codé di Dona (from Santiago), K Sol (from Santo Antão), Dynamo (from Sal, living in Portogallo), Landrick (from Angola) and Dope Vibe dj (from Boa Vista) in the end.

The second day, in the center of the stage were DJ Dabliu and TChol, the raggae music group B13 (from Boa Vista), the singer Silvestre Gomes (from Guinea-Bissau), the Kassav group (from Guadalupa), the artists Djony Cavaco & Jenifer Solidade (from Boa Vista and São Vicente), the rapper 2 Much & Blacka (from Portugal) and in the end Deejay Fatboy (from São Vicente).

The choice of artists took into account the socio-cultural diversity that characterizes the population living in Boa Vista, stratified by people from different parts of the world.
