Santa Monica among the 25 most world beautiful beaches according to Tripadvisor

Santa Monica is in the 25 Tripadvisor world beaches ranking

The beach of Santa Monica is among the 25 most beautiful beaches in the Tripadvisor ranking. The famous beach of Boavista, 21km long, visited by tens of thousands of tourists every year, is the perfect destination for excursions in the wild nature of Cape Verde. Some days of the year it is possible to swim in the natural pools that are formed in the back part of the beach, while it is always possible to visit it by quad or pick-up. On the site there are the excursions with which you can visit this wonderful beach.

In this beach there is a small beach club, Boca Beach, Cape Verde style, built entirely of natural stone and palm wood. Here it is possible to eat for lunch and shelter from the sun and the wind, eat a good grilled fish and listen to some live music on Sundays. The vast beach, still devoid of bathing establishments, is also frequented by Cape Verdeans and residents, especially during the weekend.

Santa Monica is a white sandy beach, in the south-west of the island, reachable by the asphalted road that connects the airport to Lacacão, coming out in two off-piste identified by signs on the road. It is easy enough to get there on your own, but the first time it is advisable to go on an excursion. It is also possible to get there from the small town of Povoação Velha, at the foot of Mount Estancia. In this area a large resort complex is being built by the English group Resort Group, the White Sand Resort, which will be inaugurated in 2019.
